How It Works

1

Launch and forget

Logic Commander lives in your menu bar. Enable voice control and it listens quietly in the background.

2

Say the wake word

Say "Hey Logic" to activate, then follow it with a command.

3

Logic Pro responds instantly

"Hey Logic record" "Hey Logic stop" "Hey Logic undo" — all without touching your keyboard.

Built for Solo Musicians

🎙

Wake Word Activation

Only responds when you say "Hey Logic" — won't trigger on random noise or conversation.

🔇

Echo Suppression

Smart enough to ignore your voice commands when they play back through monitors during recording.

🎛

Works With Any Mic

Use your built-in mic, USB mic, or audio interface. Shares the same input Logic Pro is recording from.

⏱

Idle Auto-Disable

Configurable timeout reminds you it's listening or automatically disables after a period of inactivity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with my audio interface?
Yes. Logic Commander can use any microphone input on your Mac, including audio interfaces. It shares the same input that Logic Pro records from, so you don't need a separate mic.
Will it trigger during playback of recorded vocals?
Logic Commander has built-in echo suppression. If it detects the same command within a few seconds of the last one, it ignores it. This prevents your recorded voice from re-triggering commands during playback.
Does it send my audio to the cloud?
No. All speech recognition is performed entirely on your Mac using Apple's built-in Speech framework. No audio data ever leaves your computer. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry of any kind.
Can I customize the wake word?
Yes. The default wake word is "Hey Logic," but you can change it to anything you like in Settings. You can also disable the wake word entirely if you prefer direct command recognition.
What version of macOS do I need?
Logic Commander requires macOS 12 (Monterey) or later. It also requires Logic Pro and microphone access.
What if it doesn't recognize my voice well?
Speech recognition accuracy depends on Apple's Speech framework. A quieter environment or a closer microphone will improve results. Logic Commander also supports fallback wake word detection — if "Hey Logic" is missed, it will still respond to just "Logic."
Can I add my own custom commands?
Custom commands are not currently supported, but this is a planned feature for a future update. Logic Commander currently includes 25+ built-in commands covering transport, recording, editing, looping, and metronome controls.
Is this a subscription?
No. Logic Commander is a one-time purchase. Pay once, use it forever. All future updates are included.
